Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973

The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (CrPC) governed the procedure for criminal cases in India until 30 June 2024. From 1 July 2024 it was repealed and replaced by the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. Proceedings pending on that date continue under the CrPC.

Repealed on 1 July 2024 and replaced by the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS).
