IPC Chapter 15: Offences relating to Religion

Repealed on 1 July 2024 and replaced by the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS).

  1. Section 295. Injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class
  2. Section 295A. Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings or any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs
  3. Section 296. Disturbing religious assembly
  4. Section 297. Trespassing on burial places, etc
  5. Section 298. Uttering, words, etc., with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person
